The following are the main projects around which the biobank is structured:
Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases

Biological samples and related data from patients diagnosed with the most prevalent metabolic diseases: diabetes, obesity and dyslipidemia.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease
IP: Dra. Elena Ricart
Collection of proven-quality samples of Colitis ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease phenotypes.
Gastrointestinal and Pancreatic Oncology
IP: Dr. Antoni Castells
Collection of biological samples from patients who are affected or are at risk of being affected by gastrointestinal and pancreatic cancer.
Psychiatric Diseases
IP: Dra. Rosa Catalán
The Mental Illness Biobank houses a collection of samples from patients who are affected or are at risk of being affected by serious mental illness as well as from healthy donors.
Maternal and Fetal Medicine
IP: Dr. Eduard Gratacós
Biological samples from cases involving pregnancy complications, as well as from low-risk pregnant mothers and foetuses.
Controls

Samples and data from individuals who have not been diagnosed with any type of illness.
