About the project

Pulmonary Hypertension Biobank promotes collection, preparation and storage of biological samples (blood, serum, DNA) of patients diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension.

Pulmonary Hypertension Biobank samples are linked to clinical data in the Spanish Registry of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (REHAP).

Pulmonary Hypertension Biobank samples are focused on minority forms of pulmonary hypertension:

  • Pulmonary arterial hypertension:
    • Idiopathic
    • Heritable
    • Associated with connective tissue diseases
    • Associated with congenital heart diseases
    • Associated with portal hypertension
    • Associated with HIV infection
    • Associated with drug- and toxin-induced
  • Pulmonary veno-occlusive disease
  • Pulmonary capillary hemangiomatosis
  • Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension
  • Pulmonary hypertension with unclear multifactorial mechanisms
